New Mercedes M Class goes frugal
The new revamped Mercedes ML is soon to hit our roads with the new ML250 2.2CDi engine ready to go head to head with Landrover and take on the Discovery 4, but can it win?
This is the third generation of the M-Class and is due to hit the UK roads in April 2012, the model is equipped with Mercedes 'Bluetech' technology and includes and stop-start system which is standard across the range along with electronic steering and a seven speed automatic transmission, the range will kick off with Mercedes ML250, Mercedes ML350 and not to forget the Mercedes ML63 AMG.
The new 4 cylinder 2.2 diesel engine in the Mercedes ML will make it the best in its SUV segment for fuel economy and emissions, the ML250 has CO2 emissions of 158g/km and Mercedes reckon that it will do 17 more miles per gallon than the best Land Rover Discovery.
Mercedes are known for leading the way in technology but so far have kept quiet about any further upgrades to the new Mercedes ML range, but we believe that with 1.2 Million units already sold since its release, the third generation will continue to push those sales figures in the right direction.
