Have you been a victim of "Crash for Cash"?
You’re driving along, nearing a roundabout when and idiotic driver slams on the brakes and you crash into the back of them!
You could be a victim of a “Crash for Cash” scheme of which fraudsters are claiming thousands of pounds from innocent motorists. The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) estimates around 30,000 accidents are staged each year, with each claim averaging around £17,000.
According to Greater Manchester Police, fraudsters are picking out victims such as elderly people or single parents who are unlikely to cause them any issues.
The fraudsters are making money through Personal Injury Claims, damages to vehicles, and recovery fees, with up to five people in a vehicle at one time this can be lucrative.
